This gem of a spot offers some of the finest Vietnamese fusion cuisine I’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Every visit is a delightful adventure, and I find myself coming back again and again.
First off, the food here is simply phenomenal. The braised short ribs pho is hands down the best I’ve had in a long time. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the short ribs are melt-in-your-mouth tender. If you’re in the mood for something a bit different, the Vietnamese tacos are a must-try. They’re packed with flavor and served on homemade shells that are truly something special. Even if you’re not hungry, one bite will have you hooked!
The Banh Mi sandwiches are another highlight. I ventured out from my usual order and tried the lemongrass pork chop Banh Mi – it was a revelation. The pork was juicy, and the spicy mayo added just the right kick. For a refreshing treat, the Thai iced tea is the best I’ve ever had in the city. It’s perfect for a hot summer day.
Service at 5ive Spice is quick and friendly. The staff are always welcoming and make you feel right at home. The restaurant’s design is neat and thoughtful, with even the restroom door cleverly blending into the wall of spices. It’s a small space, so it’s ideal for parties of two, but they do offer outdoor dining which is a plus.
A word to the wise: it’s a cash-only establishment, but there are ATMs conveniently located right outside. You can also order and pay online for pickup, which is super handy.
